About the Mount Kilimanjaro Marathon
The Kilimanjaro Marathon is Tanzania's oldest and largest marathon — held annually in the town of Moshi in the shadow of Africa's highest mountain. Since 2003, runners from around the world have gathered in Moshi at the end of February and March to run 42.2km, 21.1km, or a 5km fun run under the watchful eye of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The full marathon route leaves Moshi stadium and heads toward the town, then along the main road toward Dar es Salaam for approximately 8–9km before turning back toward the mountain and heading up a long, steady ascent toward Mweka. The course takes runners through urban areas, rural villages, and scenic roads — with views of Kilimanjaro visible throughout.
The atmosphere in Moshi over race weekend is electric. The town fills with runners from around the world, motivated to come and run one of Africa's most iconic races. The event starts and finishes at MoCU Stadium, with music, food, and local crowd energy making the finish line experience unforgettable.
The Kilimanjaro Marathon is a World Athletics and AIMS registered event, an official Comrades Marathon qualifier, and a Boston Qualifying race. Distances include the full marathon (42.2km), half marathon (21.1km), and 5km fun run.

Late Fees
A $50 fee applies if the Final Payment is received after the deadline.
Payments not received within five (5) calendar days of the Final Payment Deadline may result in cancellation of the booking at FA’s sole discretion.
Change Fees
For booking changes after the Final Payment Date, a $50 fee per person per change applies. For changes requested less than 30 days before the first day of the Travel Package, the fee is $75 per person per change.
Additional charges from travel or event suppliers which may result from changes to your Booking Order are your responsibility; you agree to reimburse FA for any such charges incurred by FA on your behalf. We will use our best efforts to accommodate the requested changes; however, FA cannot guarantee such changes once the initial booking is confirmed.
Cancellation Penalties
These cancellation penalties apply to any cancelled booking regardless of the reason, including but not limited to race cancellation by the organizer, injury during training, or failure to make full payment by the stated deadline.
All payments are non-refundable regardless of when cancellation is received. Payments are non-transferable to another person or another year. Upon written request, First Arrival may at its sole discretion approve a transfer of your balance to another First Arrival experience within twelve (12) months of the original departure date, subject to availability and applicable pricing differences.
